Play Toy Kitchen - Factors to Consider When Choosing Play Kitchens

For a little child, playtime is one glorious time of the day. The moment she gets her toys, she temporarily forgets her schoolwork, chores, and problems. At the moment, she is engulfed in such joy.

Playtime is not just fun; it is important for childhood development. By playing with other children her age, she learns the value of friendship, sharing, cooperation, fairness, and sportsmanship. By playing with the simplest toys, she learns to use her imagination and initiative.

Most children’s games include the use of a toy or two, which may be as simple as a ball or as complicated as a talking doll. Toys are essential “tools” for playtime.

Toy kitchen is some of the favorite toy for a girl. With these pretend-play toys, a girl can imitate her mother’s doing work in the kitchen. Playing with toy kitchens gives her a better understanding of her mother’s duties in the house and is most likely to do so herself.

How do you choose the right kitchen for your daughter? The choice nowadays is mind boggling. These playthings come in so many different sizes, shapes, and forms. They come with a lot of accessories. In other words, it is often difficult to find the right one for your child.

The first factor to consider in choosing a children toy kitchen is the girl’s age. Manufacturers of most toys, including kitchens, include a note that indicates the appropriate age that may be allowed to play the toy safely. Most modern play kitchens are made of plastic, which is a safe material for children, but do not let a child younger than the indicated recommended age play with the toy just to be safe. Toys that are designed for older children may have small pieces that may be ingested when played by smaller children.

The height of a child is also a factor. An “appliance” or a feature that is included in a toy kitchen may be placed up high. Age permitting, a child should be able to reach that appliance if she is to play with it.

Accessories that are included in kitchen toy set are also important things to consider. The more accessories, the better the fun. Just make sure the accessories do not pose any potential harm to the child. Nevertheless, always buy a play kitchen with the standard items—an oven, a stove, and some cupboards. Play utensils can come with the set or can be bought separately.

As your little girl grows, you will also find out that you would need additional appliances, utensils, and other activities to provide additional activities. These include toy microwave ovens, refrigerators, sinks, and even coffee pots and pans. In some of the more expensive sets, these kitchen toy sets are included. Of course, you should also buy extra plates, cups, forks, and spoons.

Lastly, you should check with the amount of play space that you have. Remember that toy kitchens can vary greatly in size. Make sure that the Kidkraft toy kitchen you buy should fit that play space; if you have a small space, buy a smaller set.

Remembering the above basic tips should help you choose the right wood toy kitchen for your little girl to enjoy.
